Recently, our University welcomed Assoc. Prof. Findlay G. Edwards, University of Arkansas, USA, who is supported by Vietnam Education Foundation - VEF of U.S. government. Dr. Edwards will be working at the Water Resources University for 1 year (from August, 2009 to July, 2010).
A Dutchman in Hanoi
Since 2006 I work at the Water Resources University. I do so in the framework of the project "Upgrading the Training Capacity in Coastal Engineering". This is a cooperation between WRU and Delft Partners (Delft University, together with Unesco-IHE and Delft Hydraulics - now Deltares) in the Netherlands. The Royal Netherlands Embassy is the donor of this project, which started formally in 2001.
Second International Symposium on Water Resources and Renewable Energy development in Asia
ASIA 2008, the next Symposium in this series, will take place in Vietnam, one of the most rapidly developing countries in the region, and one keen to enhance international collaboration. This will build on the very solid foundation of ASIA 2006, and discuss practical ways of addressing the identified needs, and enhancing collaboration to achieve specific development goals.

During the seminar particular attention will be given to the EU-Erasmus Mundus course in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modeling and Management (GEM). This course allows students tu study at ITC and in 3 other European sister universities of ITC.
